the fig tree



Its been in that tub since last summer .It survived the winter in the Garage along with 2 others .I hope I get a few figs this year .I'll just have to wait and see

if it does not produce fruit you can always use the leaves as clothing....

Maybe I can go with a fig motif in the G/T and sow the leaves together for new curtains

Just checked out your fig tree post. That inspires me to try planting one of them next year. We have a couple of big trees on our terrace, but none bearing fruit. Come on back and check my site, nycgardner.blogspot.com, any time. Glad to have a visitor!

When I planted the figs ,there are now 3, in pots I was told that they wouldn't survive.That was a year ago .Since then between the Garden net and many other gardening websites I have found that lot of people are growing them in pots.I have about a dozen on each of the oldest .Lets see what next year brings. They do need plenty of water in their containers .I water them twice a day .I wonder how much they would need on a terrace in the sky.

Sept 2017. Have the same in pots plus 3 more and 3 in the ground.What ever it is I have a total of 8 .The potted ones produce regularly the ones in the ground not yet.I'n going to wrap them this fall
