I don't remember replacing as much wood when I could prime with a linseed oil based primer. I know oil is not good for the atmosphere but cutting extra trees doesn't help either.This will be the third time I have repaired my front porch.

Cutting a 45

Sometimes the 6 or 8 saws I own just wont cut the angle I want. All the bevel all opposite of what I needed.A sharp rip saw did the trick.

Mines on the bottom was built 30 yrs ago .The one on the top was an old house I saw in Nova

Scotia last week. I like the added roof .I know there is a name for it, but it alludes me.
