Shit Happens!!!!

We were painting the other day and realized the ceiling was wet. OOPS. I could blame about 5 people but ultimately its my job. Some one put a nail into the drain for the sink when we closed up the walls . Didn't find out until we started using the sink.

Lesson learned .Even if the plumber says go ahead you can close everything up .Make sure the drains are pressure tested before. We would have found this leak months ago. That would have saved me a lot of aggravation and $$$$$.

I hate it when that happens.

You can say that again.

Has the nail/damage been overcome?

Yes . We fixed it the day we took the ceiling down. I have been running water in that bath for a week . Just giving the ceiling a bit of time to dry out. Will patch and repaint.
The granite just went in ,I have to put the faucet back and will post.
Thanks for asking.
How are you holding up with the heat?

At the house, and in the Airstream, we're doing okay with the heat. The Mighty Suburban, however, is struggling to keep us cool while we take my Overlander somewhere.

I know you've been around the block before, Tom, and you understand the frustration when one pays someone else to do a good job like I did with my primary tow vehicle's A/C.

I really do not want to tool-up for A/C repair. But it is looking like I may have too.

Sorry to whine on your blog, but you asked.

Glad to hear your kitchen is progressing.

Tom ,
With out going into another rant. I find that most tradesmen today are installers and replacers.I know its not cost effective to dope out and repair things unless one does it themselves and even then the parts are sometimes not worth the cost of buying.I had a circulator problem this winter and nobody knew how to find out why the circuit board which isolates my indirect hot water heater was shorting out on the Taco panel .I finally gave up because the instrument I needed was the same cost as two new circulators.I called the plumber . As he replaced the first B and G circulator he put it on the floor and oil ran out. I didn't say a word but I realized the increased resistance that was blowing the 5A fuse was because I had over time over oiled the circulators. Just have to learn by ones mistakes.
If you ever need a B and G circulator for a heating system I'll drop it in the mail to you .I now have 4 slightly used over oiled circulators that work fine.
Don't get me started on my trucks/tow vehicles A/C.It will be a small fortune tomorrow to repair

Tom,

If you're interested in the outcome of my vintage tow vehicle's air conditioner repair, read the last post in this thread I started in an automotive A/C forum:
